HCG is NOT a steroid

HCG is not a steroid at all. Human Chorionic Gonadotropin is a hormone produced naturally in the body. It is produced in large quantities in pregnant women. HCG treats infertility

Although this hormone is used for fat loss purposes, it is also used to treat infertility in women. It works by enabling a female’s eggs to become more mature and to be released from her ovaries. This in turn will help ensure that she has a greater chance of becoming pregnant.

HCG diets are safe

Generally, starvation diets are not considered to be safe or effective. When you starve your body, you deprive it of nutrients and energy needed to function. The second phase of the HCG diet is indeed a very low-calorie diet. Normally you will consume just 500 – 700 calories per day, which is ordinarily far too small an amount to live on. The HCG however, allows you to metabolize these calories more efficiently, so you can enjoy more energy from them without crashing and feeling tired and lethargic. On top of that, the hormone also helps to suppress your appetite, so you experience less hunger. This is hugely beneficial on a low-calorie diet, or any diet for that matter.

HCG is a placebo

The most common myth associated with HCG diets is that the hormone itself is just a placebo. After all, whether you inject HCG or not, if you consume just 500 calories a day you are going to lose weight. It is true that you would, but you would also be constantly hungry, tired, and lethargic. You’d also burn off far less calories because your body would enter starvation mode. HCG allows you to burn off more calories, so during the low-calorie phase you lose far more weight. HCG is most certainly NOT a placebo.
